Consultation
Many offices offer routine, "free" consultations. In general, these are sessions with a nurse or videotape, capped by a five minute chat with the surgeon. At NYPSA the rule is to charge modestly for consultation ($200), but to provide careful and detailed assessment by the physician.
Consultation fees cover a minimum of two, one hour visits with the surgeon, as well as photography, and, (where appropriate), computer imaging. NYPSA surgeons believe that success in cosmetic surgery depends upon both technical surgical expertise and devotion to pre-operative education and development of a realistic and thoughtful treatment plan. There is no shortcut in proper surgical planning, and the patient and surgeon must be prepared to spend whatever time is required for each to understand and embrace the proposed treatment.
